RoboCup is a competition that is aims to create robots that will be capable of competing with the human World Cup champions by the middle of the 21st century.
We come from a variety of majors but we all love soccer and robotics!
In order to help with the objective, we are attempting to build a team of robots that will be capable of competing in the Small Size League, where robots are restricted to a robot size of 180mm in diameter. The game is controlled by an overhead camera that tracks the ball and every bot on the field.
We are developing robots to fit within those size constraints and will be capable to coordinating with each other to play the game of soccer.
Currently, we are in the phase of building the robots and developing a system to control the robots with the aid of the an open source simulator, grSim.
Additionally to allow the bots to communicate with each other, we use ROS, or Robot Operating System, to control the communications between a base station and each of the robots.
